Mt. Hood, June 21
Our annual climb of Ht. Hood once again had us anticipating ice tools on the Old Chute route which worked so nicely for us last year. Not only did tools once again perform well on it, but the weather was probably the most perfect we had ever encountered on the mountain. John Letarte joined Chris and I for his first alpine climb and he did great.

Mt. Rainier, July 2
We climbed the Ingraham Direct route from Camp Muir on July 3. As expected, conditions on the upper route were deteriorating, but still surprisingly good for July due to the heavy snowpack this season. It was a great climb with excellent conditions to spend a bit of time at the top. All seven members of our group reached the summit, including two for whom Rainier was their first major alpine peak. The video below tries to capture the essense of our experience on Rainier.

Mt. St. Helens, June
Chris, John and I hiked up St. Helens Monitor Ridge route a day after summiting Mt. Hood. When Ben arrived the following week he joined John and I for a repeat climb. This shorter video is a compilation of the two climbs and features a relaxing time at the south summit rim and a fun glissade down.
